What it’s like to work at Stonewall Housing

Stonewall Housing is a small voluntary sector LGBT organisation employing 14 members of staff. There are three teams – the Supported Housing Team which is made up of the Housing Services Manager and six Supported Housing Officers, the Housing Advice Team which consists of the Advice Services Manager and four Housing Advice Workers, and the Central Admin Team including the Director, Office Manager / PA to the Director and Finance Manager.

We have a busy main office based in Islington, and this is where most of our staff work from on a daily basis. Some of our Supported Housing Officers work from an office in the house they provide support for, and come into the main office at least once a week. Housing Advice Workers take it in turns to carry out our daily advice line and three weekly advice surgeries in locations across London.

Diversity and equality of opportunities is highly important to Stonewall Housing, and this is reflected in the many and varied communities of our staff team. Staff relations are supportive and friendly, and we are all committed to working together to help the many LGBT people in housing difficulty that we have contact with. Staff enjoy a good work-life balance, and employees can apply to work from home, do compressed hours or work on a job-share basis.

We have close working partnerships with other LGBT organisations such as Galop and Broken Rainbow and with our partner housing associations Circle Anglia, Mosaic, and London and Quadrant.
