ROAR: domestic abuse advocacy service

The aims of this specialist service are to ensure that LGBT* people affected by domestic abuse across London are fully supported, provided with confidential housing, legal and safety advice, advocacy, sign-posting, emotional support, and one-to-one tenancy sustainment.

Our aim is to lower incidents of LGBT* homelessness. Insights about LGBT* people affected by domestic abuse will feed into the LGBT* DAF, providing much needed information to influence local authorities and guide good practice across sectors, inform training and identify areas of concern.

We are also undertaking work with local authorities to address low LGBT* referral rates, under reporting, accessibility, inclusiveness of services and training issues. We are hoping to feed directly into developing policy and strategies.

The service is five days a week with a weekly satellite clinic/ drop-in at Earls Court Health & Wellbeing Centre.

We think the Government should provide emergency / refuge accommodation for trans* survivors of domestic abuse and/or hate crime: do you?
